Wellness Puppy Food Petsmart

Should GOOD dog food brands advertise for the sake of trying too making every dog get a proper diet?

I was thinking that good brands of dog food, such as: Wellness/Wellness Core, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Orijen, Taste of the Wild, Blue Wilderness…etc. should make commercials on TV to advertise their food and sell their items at PetSmart and/or Petco(if the brands aren’t already there), so people aren’t dumb enough to buy terrible foods like Purina and IAMs for their pets. Since people these days are so quick to assume the commercials they see for Puppy Chow and Dog Chow are 100% and REALLY healthy for their pet and have no clue to look for premium dog food.

Would this be a good idea, so we can have more people out their feeding their dogs GOOD (at least a kibble/canned food diet, since I’m sure most people wouldn’t like to spend their money on an all raw meat diet) diets, to prevent illness and indoor accidents?

They can advertise all they want, it may make some people switch, but if there like me, they would like to switch, but they can’t afford to.

It’s well and good that these foods are better, but the price tag that comes with them, is what keeps me and many other owners away from buying those foods.

I would love to buy my dogs Canidae, but having to buy the food every two weeks is cost prohibitive. I buy the cheaper brands every two weeks too, and I am able to afford my dog’s food.

Besides, my dogs do well on Pedigree and I am happy with the way the look, act and the vet says they are healthy.

Wow… a thumbs down for stating the truth. It’s true when they say that the truth hurts after all!!

edit: funny thing is, I have never gone by the suggested daily amount on any dog food bag. I feed what works for my dogs. When I worked as a vet tech, this is what I learned from the vet that I worked for. If you go by what the bag says, your dogs will get obese, this goes for all foods. I have fed to what my dogs look like, they’re not overweight or underweight, they’re perfect in their weight.

In theory what you’re saying is correct, but in reality, it doesn’t always work.

edit: for me, the cost went up because I had to feed the same amount to my dogs. As someone had said a little later on in another question, each dog(s) is different and have different needs. Each dog reacts differently to food. What works for some, may not work for others.
