is extra protein stored as fat?
i was informed in a college wellness for life class that any extra protein taken in is stored as fat. now, work for chiropractors, physical therapists, and exercise scientists and they have said that is not true. my question is, if i limit my carb intake, and eat tuna or take a protein powder mix after working out, will any extra protein i take in be stored as fat? because a protein is not the same a carbohydrate so what enzyme turns protein to fat (if there is one)? i laughed when she said this but now it made me think haha. thanks
enzymes as a rule are catalysts for the synthesis of enegery from a said substance. woah some jargon there. Protine is mainly used in muscle regeneration your body does not store protine as fat…EVER. The foods you eat however may be loaded with protine but also contain other nutrients or excess amounts of lipids and un-needed sugar. Say a protine shake often used in weight gaining because its loaded with stuff the average human body just does not need. protine alone and healthy foods like tuna and skinless chicken brests are a great way to build muscle and have energy on tap but are not stored as fat.
