Can my cat get roundworms again a week after treatment?
My 4 months old kitten have a bad case of roundworms and he got de-wormed with Drontal in a vet office. He pooped out a clump of worms, which is great. For a week and half he still have diarrhea and pot belly. He’s still gassy and skinny even though I fed him Wellness pouches and Natural Balance canned food as much as he wants and free feed him Chicken Soup for Cat’s Lover kitten chow. He’s still lethargic and isn’t growing up at all.
So, is it possible he’s been re-infested? I even cleaned all over my apt and washed his litter boxes with vinegar and replace sand every day for 5 days after he took Drontal pill as told by vet.
Really? I didn’t know that Drontal isn’t effective. I will ask my vet for another brand of dewormer. My cat is a strictly indoor cat and he never ate any dead animals well maybe little bugs and he doesn’t have fleas. I can tell because he has white fur!
you may have to give you vet another visit. Is the kitten eating other dead animals? does he have fleas. Fleas will cause worms. You might lay off the canned cat food. that could be giving them the diarrhea.
