What is the BEST food (no matter the price)for an inactive dog?
I have a Bichon-Maltese mix who is pretty lazy. She runs around the house for about an hour all day but is lazy for the most part. I have her on Nutro Small bites Lamb & Rice right now, however she gets very bored with food after 2 bags of it. What have you heard about Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Innova or Nutro Ultra? Are there products that are even better than those mentioned?
Nutro is of terrible quality. i hope you do decide to switch. Innova and the other brands made by that company are the best in my opinion (they also make California Naturals-which is good for inactive dogs, Healthwise, and Karma). Blue Buffalo and Wellness are also high quality foods. Some others include: Prairie, ProPac, Solid Gold, Organix, Harmony Farms, Native, Haven, and Merrick (there are many other good foods-these are just some of them). If I had to choose a starting place, it would always be with Innova…give it at least 2-3 months to evaluate how it is working-changes can always be rough at the start. I do have to tell you not to let the dog dictate what she will eat…the last thing anyone needs is a picky dog manipulating them. I have the best luck with finding a food and sticking with it (sometimes switching between Lamb & Fish protein, but trying to stick with one).
