Is Wellness cat food better than Science Diet’s c/d or s/d for cat’s with prior urinary tract problems?
Our cat has been on the s/d dry and sometimes wet food for the past year, and the vet says she’ll need to eat the c/d for the rest of her life. The food is not cheap, and I’m not sure it’s the best for her. I’ve read some things about the Wellness brand, and was wondering if that was a good food for cats with problems? Thanks to everyone in advance for responding!
NO dry food is good for a cat with urinary problems. The c/d just has a urine acidifier added to it (and you can add that yourself to any food). If the cat eats a diet of quality meat the urine is naturally acidic (6.5). So Wellness CANNED food is a good choice or any other quality canned food – Natural Balance, Avoderm, Lick Your Chops. Blue Buffalo, Artemis, CA Natural are some good choices. Use of variety of brands.
