Wellness Exams For Women
I asked for a womens wellness exam, what am I going to get?
I thought a womens wellness exam was a pap smear. But now I’ve been reading on the different kinds of exams for women and Im not sure what I asked for. My appointment is tomorrow. Can I change what I asked for once I get to my appt? This is my first time so I don’t really know what I’m doing!

What is considered routine during one of these exams is really up to the individual doctor. The doctor may consider a regular vagina exam a wellness exam with the pap being something that is not normally done. Some doctors include breast exams as a part of their normal exam.
Knowing all that your doctor isn’t going to do anything that you don’t want him to do to you, so just talk with the doctor before the exam begins so you will be informed and not surprised by anything.
