His book “Fasting and Eating for Health” is highly regarded by everyone I know who have done water fasts. Every six months or so, I fast for 5+ days under the supervision of a natureopath. Most people can fast safely for 20-30 days under medical supervision. Some people have conditions that make fasting very dangerous. For most people, a water fast (drinking pure water, no juice, no food) has health benefits because the digestive system can rest and the body can repair damage caused by years of excess rich foods.
He will advise you to first go on an optimal diet that is a low-fat whole plant based diet. You need to eat healthy before and after the water fast. Otherwise, you will simply regain the weight you lost during the fast.
Fasting help me to lose 80+ pounds, but the key is a low-fat whole plant based diet which I will continue for life.
