Can Cross Country help you lose weight? Food for weight loss?

Our team have been running almost every day (except weekends). Stating tomorrow this is our schedule, everything starts after school. We run straight 2 blocks, down a hill for 2 blocks, straight 2 blocks, and up a hill for two blocks. I usually mostly jog for about 5-10 minutes and walk for 30 seconds and repeat.
Monday-1 1/2 – 2 miles
Tuesday-1 1/2 – 2 miles
Wednesday-Weight Room
Thursday-1 1/2 – 2 miles
Friday-1 1/2 – 2 miles
Saturday and Sunday- Rest
I know I will gain weight because of muscle, but will I lose weight. Cross Country ends in October. I am overweight. I am 14, 5’5″, and about 168 pounds, most of the weight is in my thighs and butt. Most of the team are seniors who have been doing this for 3 years and I can kind of keep up with them. How long will it take me to lose weight? Also, I don’t really eat healthy, I’m trying to cut out junk food. Can you please suggest me a food schedule, like what to eat for Breakfast, lunch , and dinner so I can lose weight? Thanks.

Yes of course cross country can help you lose weight it’s running so therefore it’s exercise. Also it’s not all about eating foods that are healthy well it is, but it’s mostly maintaining how much you eat and what time of day you eat at, like don’t eat after six and don’t pig out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Snacks in between should be a healthy choice of food such as fruits and or vegetables.
