Weight Loss Running Program For Beginners



What’s the best way to get into a good running routine?

I’ve never been a serious runner before, though I used to be a gymnast and did a lot of strength training back in the day. I haven’t got the money for a gym membership, but since it’s starting to get warmer outside I’d really like to start running. I’d eventually like to run a half marathon. This summer if at all possible. What’s the best routine to get into? Can anyone point me to a program? I’m only a beginner, but I’m very disciplined, have time on my hands, and I’m quite healthy (weight loss is not a goal). I do have asthma so long sessions are something I’ll have to work up to, but I would like to excell as quickly as possible.

Work up distance and speed gradually, switch it up from time to time, try sprints instead of a long range run, switch up where you run. Run hills if you’ve got them
