Weight Loss Remedies For Women
Does anyone know of a weight loss remedy for sufferers of PCOS?
My docs recently diagnosed me with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). They are saying that is the reason for my 70 lb weight gain and tell me women with PCOS usually have to live with the extra lbs. I find this hard to believe…however, I have tried every diet known to man, and NOTHING is working. Does anyone know of some type of remedy for this disease? This is a serious matter—-please only serious answers. Thanks!
The underlying cause of PCOS is insulin resistance (IR). This makes it VERY difficult to lose weight (even with a good diet and exercise). It is important to treat the IR issue with an insulin sensitizing drug, such as metformin (1500-2550mg per day). Of course a good low carb diet (the basic diabetic diet is a good one) combined with exercise and the metformin should help you lose weight.
