Weight Loss Meal Replacement Powder
Whey protein shakes and trying to lose weight. Need advice.?
I work out with a personal trainer. In 2 months, I’ve lost 5 lbs & 8 inches. I’ve been on and off Isagenix for a while. I want to try something else due to me not losing any weight in a month. My personal trainer tells me I should be losing 1-2 lbs/week. I do weight training for 30 mins 3 times/week & 30+ minutes cardio 5 times/week. Muscle weighs more than fat so I’m assuming that’s why I’m not losing weight.
Based on the advice of a co-worker who used to be a personal trainer, I bought Designer Whey Protein shake powder. He advised me to use it 2-3 times a day as a meal replacement in conjunction with a carb. My personal trainer said it’s not to be used as a meal replacement & keeps trying to sell me Isagenix. I’ve cut back substantially on the “bad” foods & am eating more lean protein & veggies.
I’m 5’4″ female and weigh 145 lbs. I want to speed up the weight loss by using 1-2 replacement meal shakes/day & then resume eating healthy. How do I do this correctly?
Your workout schedule is very good and balanced. However, I would expect you losing more than 5lb in 2 months and I’m assuming you have been consistent with your workouts and eating healthy foods most of the time. Don’t waste your money on those meal replacements they recommend you. Nothing can substitute a healthy, moderate and fresh meal, Nothing! Your body will eventualy adjust itself to the new lifestyle and you will be burning more calories even when you sleep. As for Whey Protein, 2-3 times a day is too much, you are overloading your kidneys to filtrate more protein than they are used to( long term high-protein intake will harm you in the long run). Bottom line is stick to the workout you are doing, eat a variety of healthy fresh foods (a lot of veggies and fruits and at least 1/2 g of water a day) and you WILL see the results. There’s really no secret substitute or shortcut that works better and will not harm you in the long run than daily physical activity and clean diet.
