Weight Loss Lexapro Withdrawal

anyone else taking lexapro?

ok I’ve been on Lexapro for about 5-6 months and I just realized that everything that has been going on with me physically is because of this. And I want off.

Weight gain
Increased vivid dreams
no energy
difficult waking up in the morning
decreased sex drive
short term memory loss
heat flashes
even more serious is heart palpatations that have increased over the last couple of days and are making it awkward to breath.

I want off!! I’ve read else where that it’s difficult even weaing off. I dont necessarily feel addicted. I just take the darn drug. But will I still have withdrawals even though I dont feel like it’s helping me? And can I get other peoples experiences with Lexapro?

I have been on lexapro for about two years now, with a slow increase of up to 30 mg per day.
I have experienced a slight weight gain, loss of sex drive, and for the first couple of days difficulty waking up.
I unfortunately (especially when I’m on holidays) stop taking it, and sometimes it is ok, and other times it is like the world is crashing down around me. But from me personally I think its just a matter of you talking with your doctor about it, and possibly trying other medications. Self medicating is pretty dangerous, and depending on how severe or serious your depression is it could have a horrible outcome.
I like lexapro, i find that it lifts my mood, without making me feel numb and although it does have some other cons, I guess i would prefer to eat a little more, and have no sex drive than to feel like crap..
Ohh and it doesn’t actually make ou put weight on, lexapro is usually given to people who when they experience depression/anxiety stop eating, and the drug kicks in in order to maintain a ‘normal’ eating habit.
