useful information about dieting/weight loss?

i’ve learned some pretty interesting things on this question thing like that 3,500 calories makes you gain one pound, and that you get full 10-20 minutes after you eat, so i was just wondering if there is any more useful information about dieting or ways to eat less… thanks!

Well, first off, the ammount of calories it takes for YOU to gain one pound could be TOTALLY different than the ammount it takes for me or someone else. There is no black and white when it comes to dieting, there are a lot of variables that need to be identified before “facts” about dieting can be applied to you. Some guidelines however are as follows:
Typically a woman should never eat less than 1200 calories per day in order to acheive weight loss results and a man should never eat less than 1500.
Building muscle helps you burn calories, as your body has to burn calories to sustain muscle tissue, so add some weight training to your routine along with cardio.
Red meats contribute to muscle mass, poultry and fish are better for those who already have enough muscle and just need to lose fat. However nothing should be completely cut out of your diet in order to acheive proper nutrition.
