Typical Weight Loss On Atkins Induction

stalled and need help?

I am stalled in my weight loss journey. For those of you familiar with atkins-NO BASHING THIS IS MY CHOICE AND HOW I EAT, i am on continued induction. I have lot 34 lbs so far, but have since stalled for this past month. I have tired everything i can think of. i cut out cheese and pop. and i kicked up my work out routien, and varied it up a bit. I have also tried his fat fast. and nothing it working. i might mention that i have been on the tiem of month, well this whole month ( yes, this is normal because of my PCOS). so i have no clue what to do to get things going again. i still have 92 lbs left to lose, so its not like i am close to goal or anything. i typical menue is as follows:

b: 3 eggs, with bacon
l: turkey lettuce wrap with mayo- LC wraps 4 carbs each. usually have 2 of them.
D: Steak or chicken, or eggs. Usually with some kind of veggie ( mushrooms, broccoli)

thanks, any help is appreciated.

You need to slap your metabolism in its face to give it a wake up. If we get into a habit of doing certain things we adjust to them and stabilize. So wake it up by maybe changing your diet for a day, but don’t over do it, eat Carbs for that day but keep your calories and portions within limits. And prepare yourself for the possibility of re-initializing the Carb cravings for a few days after.

Also in the long term, eat tons of Broccoli and Cauliflower, or some other Hi-Fiber veggies. Gotta have that hi-fiber veggies man as much as you can without tipping your 19-20 grams. I hope this helps.

Side Note:

Also for anyone wanting to bash this diet, ask yourselves if this diet is worse than the old diet that many of us were on leading us to diabetes and death? Think of it this way, a vegan diet that incorporates certain meats and simply shuns pasta, bread and anything else that has the “refined sugar or gluten carbs”. In fact it is very similar to a diabetic diet and many people consider those diets very healthy.

For the majority of us trying to be on this low carb diet, we achieve low Carb mainly by cutting out refined sugars and gluten while keeping portions of our other foods small. It isn’t recommended that anyone go “Hog-Wild” and down TONS of fat only. It is recommended to eat within reason but to avoid fake or low-fat items simply to keep a moderate amount of fat circulating in your metabolism since your body uses 2 types of fuel but only burns one type at a time. The fuels are “Sugars” and “Fat”. And for your body to switch gears to burn fat instead of sugar requires that less sugars are available to burn than is Fat. If you body get used to burning fat rather than sugars you will be able to keep your body weight under control more easily. Not to mention trying to lose it becomes extremely challenging if you eat tons of carbs and no or low fat not giving your body the tools it needs to succeed or even get in fat burning mode.

Just because the FDA says something, doesn’t mean they aren’t flawed in their thinking. After all the worlds smartest people used to swear up and down that the world was flat simply because they didn’t understand how things really were. Its easy to think “We have too much fat on our body, we need to not add more!” but in understanding how the body works we come to understand that within reason we need to have a balance and informed approach.

I am not posting this to be argumentative, rather to try and help people understand things may not be as they previously believed.
