How much weight should i expect to lose?

I know, all of our bodies are different but I thought I’d ask anyways. I am trying to lose weight through better eating and exercise, how much is a good amount of weight loss to aim for over 3 months? I am female, 5’7 and 170 lbs, I gained 40 lbs over the past year and a half. My natural weight is around 130 lbs. I read that something like 30 lbs would be too high, tell me if that’s unrealistic. Also, the way I put on weight hasnt been by eating lots of normal food along with junk too, but a lot of my diet for the past year has been 97% fastfoods, fatty foods and stuff, and since I would be going from this back to a healthy vegetarian diet (but not ridiculously low calorie) wouldnt’ this cause my body to lose some weight quick or something? (I had an overeating problem but I’m better now, just ready to get to a healthy weight again). Thanks

I’m glad to hear you are taking the right steps to bettering your health. When you begin to lose weight, you will lose it fast at first.. about 10 lbs. But don’t get upset when it feels like that is all you’ve lost. Your body needs time for these things, especially getting used to the new exercise and healthier foods (believe me, it’s an addiction to be lazy). It’s after that initial weight lose that is the harder part but stick to it, the weight will go down. 3 months, pending on how much you exerise, you should be able to lose 20.. I feel 30 is just too big a strain. Remember, the faster you lose weight, the harder it is to keep your skin looking healthy and not stretched. If stretch marks do appear, apply Vitamin E oil to your skin. Also be sure to take a multivitamin with a decent meal, it will prevent your joints from locking up. Good luck!
