No Weight Loss Ketosis
Low carb question for serious answers please?
I gained about 10lbs this year, and I’m really desperate to get it off. For the past 7 days, I’ve switched to low carb eating, which has worked for me several times in the past. However, I notice that after a solid week, I haven’t lost any weight or seen any results whatsoever! Yet, my ketosticks demonstrate that I’m in ketosis! What gives? I know it’s too soon for me to plateau, because I’d have to see some weight loss before that even happens. And I have never once cheated (what’s the point?) I admit that I haven’t worked out much, but exercise on the Atkins diet has always been optional, not mandatory. Anyone have any ideas? (Please, no comments about the dangers of low carb or the damage it’ll do to my kidneys…)
Honestly, I’m not sure. Low carb has worked for me in the past as well.
I do, however, have a friend who was a frequent low-carb dieter and I know it’s not as easy for her to lose on it now as it was in the beginning. Are you eating high sodium foods? What exactly are you eating and how much? Are you doing Atkins or simply Low Carb?
Could be that your body needs you to try different foods. I recommend switching up what you eat completely.
Try some new vegetables and proteins.
