Hypothalamus Weight Loss Foods

Weight loss and hypothalamus?

Does any one have any weight loss advice for someone whose hypothalamus doesn’t function due to a medical condition. Please don’t answer with ‘diet and exercise’ because even an endocrinology Professor at the university research unit has told me it won’t work, and I’ve been to many specialists looking for an answer.

I can get food poisoning and still gain weight so I’d like to know if there is anyone one out there who understands what I’m saying and has suggestions that might help my situation.

I used to be an athlete so I understand the importance of proper diet and exercise. All my flatmates loved living with me because they would lose 2 clothing sizes by doing what I did and keep it off whereas at best, I would only maintain the weight I was.

Hmmm… tough. But I can kind of relate, because I had a thyroid problem where nomatter what I’d do, I would gain weight.
However, whatever you do, DO NOT starve yourself. Trust me, it will just lead to complications later in life.
I’d suggest going on a super-healthy diet. You know: fruits, veggies, legumes, and whole grains (different from whole wheat, very important). I’m kind of opposed to eating meat, it’s not that great for you but if you must then lean protein, like chicken is okay. Dairy, while very important for growth and bones, can be very fattening. All in moderation. That’s key.
Might I suggest a nutritionist? I think they would know better than any of us on here could answer. Perhaps you two could come up with something that is reasonable and healthy!
I think the answer would be in a drastic change of diet like this. Exercise is always good as well.
