help me design a weight loss regimin?

Okay so I am 5’8/5’9″ and 178 lbs. Im not obese looking but i look like i have extra baggage. Im a size 8/10 and I want to be a 4 by summer so this spring i wat to lose 48 lbs. I know that may not be that obtainable for some of you but i know i can do it. can i have excercise tips? That is my big thing. i dont exercise the right things and i have no motivation. and i have found low carb diets work best for me…any tips? Im a high schooler so i need ideas on what to bring to school that is carb free. Thanks!

Just to clarify, almost no food is carb-free. And your body needs carbohydrates to function. I just recently lost a lot of weight by cutting out wheat- bread, cookies, pasta, crackers, breading, muffins, bagels, etc. I am studying nutrition and have read thoroughly on how great healthy oils & fats are for you. Contrary to popular belief, eating fat does not make you fat. In fact, carbohydrates make you fat because they raise your blood sugar, which also makes you want to keep eating after you are full.

My typical diet is oats for breakfast, preferably slow-cooking but instant is ok, prepared with unsweetened soy milk, a tablespoon of walnuts, a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and a small amount of fruit. This breakfast holds me over for a while! Make sure you eat breakfast before school- trust me its crucial for weight loss. Lunch I usually eat a big salad, prepared with lots of veggies and oil and vinegar. Can you bring a salad to school, in a plastic container? I also add in low fat cheese, and if you want lean deli meat. For snacks, whole fruits like apples and oranges are great, especially when combined with raw nuts like almonds. For dinner I usually have fish (salmon, flounder, sole, etc.) and some sort of steamed vegetable- broccoli, green beans, etc. And then I don’t eat anything after dinner- if anything I will have some tea.

For exercise, just try to give yourself a good sweat. Take a fast-paced walk 3 times a week, then move up to every day. From experience, your weight is reflected 75% from what you eat, 25% from exercise. So just as long as you are active, don’t try to go overboard on working out if you really don’t like it!

Also, since you are a girl, make sure you get a lot of calcium each day. So lowfat milk, yogurt, fortified soymilk, lowfat cheeses. I know cutting out wheat sounds scary, but try it! I felt amazing- more energy, better moods.. and I lost about 8 pounds in the first week! Good luck!
