Final Inches Weight Loss Lose Weight

How many inches will I most likely lose?
I’m 5’9.
150 pounds.
My measurements are 35-28-38
I want to be 130 pounds (20 pound weight loss)
If I’m planning to lose this weight over a 5 month period by combining a 1200 calorie diet with exercise how many inches should I lose?
I really just want to lose 2inches off my waist and hips. Do you guys think I’ll reach my goal? Or would it require more weight loss for that?

1200 calories is pretty low, I was around your weight (140), 34-27-37, 5’10 and I had similar goals. It’s really difficult to only eat 1200 calories a day if you dive right into it. You should gradually decrease it by 200 each week for the first month. I made the mistake of starting off really low (between 1000-1200 calories a day). It slowed my metabolism way down and I had to keep reducing my calorie intake to continue losing weight (now I’m in eating disorder territory).
Anyway, if you’re exercising regularly you should be consuming more, around 1500-1800. 1200 is only used as a diet plan for extremely obese people. You’ll still lose the weight in that amount of time but it won’t be as difficult to avoid eating. Also, if you don’t have enough calories your body will use your lean body mass for energy NOT fat. This means you’ll lose the pounds but not see any change in terms of the inches. Just make sure you consume enough protein and do exercises that include strength training to keep up your lean body mass.
