How do we improve the dress sense aesthetics of Singaporean working class?
Our weather here is one of the more humid in the tropics countries; with almost 85% humidity index throughout the year. Thus, our working dress sense tend to be very casual and sloppy or skewed towards comfort-based consideration factor. Citizens that dressed well have an indirect impact on the overall social fabrics aesthetics and beauty. This intangible asset is not always view favourably by man in the street. Thus, my question is, how do we inculcate a generation of better dress-sense for the working class; aside from just the normal long shirt and dark pants. Can having fashion show in the corporate word helps? Or , we are happy with the simple, comfort style of dressing we have been used to? Should we ‘resuscitate’ our wardrobe by having an monthly dress theme for each company; with guidelines or do and don’ts on a specific day of each month? Will these help the dull peguine office to become more cheerful and colourful. Thus, promoting office wellness.
What? Leave the working class alone…Humidity about 80% and you want them to wear clothes that suite “your” tastes…???
