I’m 5’5 and weigh 185. I’d like to lose 64 pounds. Ideas? Time frame? Motivations?

I’ve tried so many times, but lose momentum quickly and quit. What can I do to get motivated and stick with it. I’m not looking for any crazy “lose it quick” plans, just a realistic new way of life. I’m happy with my life aside from my weight. I’d like to wear cute clothes again and be a good role model for my kids. I figure I could probably lose it in 8 months if I was really working the plan, but have been carrying this weight around for almost 5 years…ugh! I have two children who I care for at home and I work part time evenings. Please pump me up…I need it! Know any good websites that push you forward into wellness? I appreciate any input that could get me going. I’m sick of being a fatty and really want to make myself proud. I know that even though I’m happy eating oversized portions and cake snacks that self control would be better. Why can’t I do this? I’m no dummy, but I’m stuck in a big fat rut! Please help.

I know where you’re coming from. I am 5’7″ and used to weigh 203lbs! I’ve lost a lot of weight and am still working on it. Is joining some kind of class an option? It is much more fun and easier to stick to working out in a group at a set time. Discipline is key. I know you are no dummy, just like I am not! I am actually pretty smart, so I put my brain into it. Use logic and reasoning. You know how you want to look and feel now follow that through logically. Will eating Hostess cupcakes (used to be my weakness) 5 times a week help you achieve your goal? Maybe you have to wean yourself off junk and fast food. I know I did. Why don’t you start by limiting your eating out at fast food places to once a week. When you do go to fast food, get a smaller version of what you like, for example a whopper jr. instead of a whopper, with small fries and a drink. I went to Carl’s Jr. the other day and asked for a small soda and that thing looked like a 2 liter would fit in there! Also check out the nutritional information pamphlets they have to really see how many calories you’re getting. You’ll be suprised! Don’t depend on momentum to carry you through. Again, use you’re logic, you want a different body, so you need a different lifestyle. Exercise when you don’t feel like it, even if you only do half of what you would normally do, get moving! I can’t really recommend any websites, but if you need on on-line chatting buddy you can e-mail me. Once you start to see your clothes fitting better and even fitting big, that’ll be the motivation and “high” you’re looking for. You have the power. You don’t have to be in a rut!
